The existing assembly was an R-Panel roof with spray foam insulation on the underside of the deck. The customer wanted r-value, but did not want it on the underside of the deck because of the environment inside. The process of forging metal had deteriorated the insulation as well as the metal R-Panel decking.
North American Roofing's solution was to remove the existing assembly down to the perlins and install a new "B" decking, ISO and a new 60-mil TPO membrane. This installation put the insulation above the deck, making sure it would not deteriorate over time due to the internal processes.
One section of the roof required coating. Cleaning the existing metal was critical for the installation of the new coating. In addition, weather became a factor because coating cannot be applied under 50 degrees.
